Though the kitchen footprint was fine, the former island had an awkward angle at one end that visually caged in the kitchen. The new island is the biggest functional change that opened up the kitchen for better traffic flow and most importantly to this family, gave them table like seating for family dinner and playing games. We also flipped the formal living and dining spaces to create a private den and open up the occasionally used dining room. The main floor renovation encompassed the mudroom, powder room, kitchen, dining, family and formal living rooms. Construction: Stromberg Built
